sound for picture

Four feature films, a handful of shorts, and well over 300 episodes of television feature my work in recording, editing, or mixing.

Since fall of 2021 I have been a freelance sound + music professional. My roles include ADR supervising/editing on You, Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars, and Minx. I shot some ADR for Cobra Kai and Ted, recorded VO for Family Guy and a few other cartoons, and did the sound design for a fun animated pitch.

From 2012 to 2021 I was the Production Mixer and Dialogue Editor at American Dad. At our in-house studio (or remotely from home during COVID) I recorded actors’ voices, then cut them together into a complete show and sat with the executive producers to lock it. As each show got rewritten on its roughly year-long road to broadcast, I recorded the rewritten pickup lines and sent those off to whatever department needed them at the moment. I helped pass the show on from one department or stage of production to the next in a neat, clean, organized way. And I recorded ADR and loop group, as well as doing some temp music editing and mixing, and temp design.

From 2008 to 2012 I was the Production Mixer and Dialogue Editor at The Cleveland Show. I did the same kinds of things as on American Dad.

Before that, dating back to January ’06, I was the assistant to the production mixer at Family Guy. He had all the same duties I did on the other two shows, and I handled overflow as well as filing, labeling, session prep and such.

My jobs at American Dad, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show gave me the chance to meet and record so many folks. I have had the pleasure of recording the voices of some amazing actors, including Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green, Mike Henry, Kevin Michael Richardson, Rob Riggle, Jason Alexander, Mila Kunis, Carl Reiner, Ed Asner, Glenn Howerton, Whoopi Goldberg, Carrie Fisher, and Jane Lynch. For a longer list you can go here. Sometimes I got to record singing or rapping as well, and even supervise music sessions. Besides a number of immensely talented studio singers, I’ve also had the good fortune of recording the vocals of Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, will.i.am, Fergy, Weird Al, Darryl Hall, and Frank Sinatra Jr. Voiceover sessions where I was an assistant include many, many more—Bob Barker, Levar Burton, Petros Papadakis, Drew Barrymore, Ricardo Montalban, Lauren Conrad, Barry Manilow (singing, too!), Michael Clarke Duncan, Sandra Oh, Adam Corrolla… I feel incredibily fortunate.

I was a restoration engineer at Novastar Digital through much of 2005. There I began as a freelance restoration engineer and soon became the head restoration engineer on staff, scheduling and supervising staff and freelance engineers, interviewing potential engineers, helping to bid jobs, and assembling a department manual. I also personally restored television soundtracks including dozens of episodes of The Flying Nun and Police Woman, and films including Groundhog Day (international versions), Karate Kid 3 (international versions), Anne of the Thousand Days (international versions), and Age of Innocence.
