Last night I got to see a screening of the Mad Men episode “Suitcase” at the Television Academy, then watched a hosted panel and Q&A featuring producer/creater Matt Weiner and about eight cast members… and then enjoy a reception where most of the actors on the panel hung out to sign autographs and take photos. They were all just fantastic, and the whole thing was a blast. It was interesting to hear the praise and respect that they have for each other, the shared sense of high standards and pressure, and the ways in which the actors’ own personalities inform and enrich the characters we all know so well. I thought of all of them, Robert Morse most strongly resembled the character he played—it was almost as if he was in character all night.
